Christopher Hodgson

Photography Guide

Christopher Hodgson joined the team at Images of Wildlife Ltd in 2019 and has since become a highly respected and well-loved photography guide. Chris was born and raised in the Yorkshire Dales, where his passion for wildlife and the natural environment began at a very young age. He became a professional photographer after completing two years of photography studies at Dundee College in 2011. Since then, Chris has travelled extensively, photographing wildlife across most of the world’s continents.

Photography guiding and tour experience

Chris is an experienced wildlife photography guide with a strong background in hosting tours and delivering practical, easy-to-follow photographic tuition. He earned 7 years guiding experience Senior Guide with Lights Over Lapland in Sweden, leading multi-day Northern Lights photography tours and teaching landscape photography in challenging Arctic conditions. Guiding and problem-solving in temperatures as low as –35°C has helped develop the calm, adaptable guiding style he brings to all of our safaris.

International safaris and specialist tours

Chris has co-guided and led photography tours across several of our key destinations, including:

  • Our Maasai Mara photo safari in Kenya
  • Our wildlife photography safaris in Botswana
  • Our Tigers of Bandhavgarh photography tour
  • Our photography tours in Tanzania
  • Brown bear photography tours in Slovenia
  • Private photo tours in India

He has also co-guided bird of prey photography workshops in the UK and regularly delivers one-to-one private photography workshops. In addition, Chris has travelled widely throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia, and has recently expanded his African field experience to include Zambia.

Conservation involvement

In 2019, Chris photographed several projects for The World Land Trust. A charity very close to his heart. He actively supports conservation by visiting and documenting their projects around the world whenever his schedule allows.

Photography style and personal projects

Chris has a deep passion for photographing all forms of wildlife and is a particularly dedicated bird photographer. He is currently working on a long-term personal project to photograph the national bird of every country. He is aware this a long shot, but hey, you’ve got to have goals! His photographic style includes environmental portraiture, slow panning and working with light. Chris believes that showing animals within their natural surroundings plays an important role in helping people understand and protect our increasingly fragile wild places. That said, he is equally at home capturing powerful, close-range wildlife moments in the field.

Equipment, Image portfolio & Hobbies

Chris now photographs using Nikon equipment, after many years shooting with Canon. A selection of Chris’s images can be viewed on his personal website. Chris is happiest when out in the field, helping guests get their dream shots. He prefers coffee but is known to hide Sarah’s tea bags, just to heighten the sense of adventure when their guiding together.

Andy Skinner

Andy Skinner is a Director of Images of Wildlife Ltd and an award-winning professional wildlife photographer. He has more than 15 years’ experience photographing wildlife and extensive experience hosting and guiding wildlife photography safaris. A selection of Andy’s images can be viewed in our gallery.

Early inspiration and career journey

From that point onwards, his drive to photograph wildlife has taken him around the world and led to widespread recognition for his work.

Awards and published work

Wildlife knowledge and guiding experience

In addition to his photographic skills, Andy has an excellent working knowledge of African and North American wildlife. He has also completed a specialist safari skills course in Kenya, further strengthening his fieldcraft and guiding expertise.

Writing and industry contribution

Andy also writes technical photography articles for several leading photography publications, sharing practical advice and creative insight with a wider international audience. He has also co-hosted several online talks for Photgraphy Experts.

Balvinder Singh

Local Host/Wildlife Guide
Bali 1000 bio

Balvinder Singh, known as Bali to his friends, is a highly valued member of the team at Images of Wildlife Ltd. We are honoured to have worked closely with Bali in India for many years, and he now leads two of our specialist tours and co-hosts another across this wonderfully diverse country.

Education and early career

Bali was educated in Delhi, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism alongside a three-year diploma in the French language. After finishing his studies, he began working for a small inbound tour company specialising in trekking groups from France. The company later became the local operator for Exodus Travels, hosting international groups across India. When international leaders were phased out, Bali became one of the main Indian tour leaders for the company. For more than a decade, he led and hosted groups throughout his home country.

Trekking, culture and wildlife guiding

During this period, Bali gained extensive experience leading trekking groups in the Himalayas, as well as cultural and discovery tours across India. He later began guiding wildlife-focused trips to national parks and tiger reserves. This was the turning point that sparked his deep passion for Indian wildlife and nature photography.

Industry recognition and leadership

Bali quickly became one of India’s most respected tour leaders. He was twice awarded Best Commended Tour Leader of the Year by Exodus, and in 2010 was nominated by Wanderlust Magazine as one of the ten best tour leaders worldwide. In 2015, Bali founded his own wildlife travel company, offering specialist birding and tiger tours throughout India.

Working with Images of Wildlife

In 2017, Images of Wildlife appointed Bali as our local operator for our photography safari based around Bandhavgarh National Park. His outstanding knowledge of Indian wildlife, national parks and the local guiding network quickly became a key factor in the success of this tour. Today, Bali leads our Snow Leopards of Spiti Valley Himalayan Adventure and our Tigers & Wildlife of India Safari, and co-hosts our Tigers of Bandhavgarh Photo Safari alongside our photography guides. He is widely appreciated by guests for his friendly manner, professionalism and exceptional field knowledge.

Photography and personal interests

Bali is a keen, self-taught wildlife photographer and photographs using Canon equipment. His passion for wildlife, combined with decades of guiding experience across India, makes him an invaluable member of the Images of Wildlife team. He also loves to tell guests about all aspects of Indian culture, and will happily talk for hours about his beloved home country.

what our guests say….

I can't wait to be able to go on another trip with them in the future.

I came in with little photography experience, only taking one class and picking up my camera maybe a couple times a year. So I was pretty nervous to start out that I wouldn't get anything that memorable or great, being such a beginner. But because I work with animals for a living, I still wanted to experience them in their natural environments so I tried it out, and learning some photography was going to be a bonus. I lost count of how many times I looked at the back of my camera saying "wow", honestly in disbelief that I was able to take that photo just from listening to what Sarah and Chris were saying. I feel like I improved every single day without even realizing it was happening. Their teaching style was very easy for me to grasp right away. They shared camera settings and shooting tips, but also shared something I really appreciated was that even really good photographers miss shots, and in the end what matters is whether you're happy with your own photos rather than how other people might judge them. You can feel the passion that they have for what they do in every aspect of the whole trip, from the planning of every detail, to guest comfort and happiness with photos, and the animals' comfort with our presence. When I got back, I realized I didn't get attached to a specific sighting or place. I got attached to a specific way of experiencing wildlife. I can't wait to be able to go on another trip with them in the future.

L. Zeigler (USA). Tanzania Migration & Big Cat Safari. June 2026

Thank you for such an incredible trip!

I loved this tour of India's parks and beautiful wildlife. The tour really demonstrated the diversity of landscapes, habitats and wildlife of India, and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Sarah was very organised and detailed and Bali was an excellent host, making the tour seamless. He can (and will) organise anything and everything for you! I cannot wait to come back. Seeing a tiger in the wild has got to be one of the most wonderful experiences one can put a stamp against. Thank you for such an incredible trip!

S. Wong (UK). Tigers & Wildlife of India tour. March 2026

Viewing snow leopards was a challenging dream made possible by Images of Wildlife.

Bali was enthusiastic, caring, and knowledgeable. So grateful to have been able to make this wonderful trip. Viewing snow leopards was a challenging dream made possible by Images of Wildlife.

N. Gaudino (USA). Snow Leopards of Spiti Valley Himalayan Adventure

Seeing Snow Leopards is a very special experience and though no wildlife is guaranteed, I have done this trip twice and seen them both times

If you are looking for an adventure where the drive to is as much a part of it as the being there, then this is the one for you. Seeing Snow Leopards is a very special experience and though no wildlife is guaranteed, I have done this trip twice and seen them both times. Each sighting was special and unique and unforgettable and it is a privilege to have seen them. There are also many other animals and birds to see, plus Buddist temples, mountain peaks, blues skies, and endless great food.

Mr M. Bennett (UK) Snow Leopards of Spiti Valley Himalayan Adventure

The environment is harsh but with great orgainisation Images of Wildlife made everything as comfortable as possible

This tour is a real adventure and so much more than obtaining images of snow leopards. We felt that we were immersed in Indian culture as well as having excellent wildlife sightings (four snow leopards, foxes, ibex, blue sheep, yaks and a Himalayan wolf). The environment is harsh but with great orgainisation Images of Wildlife made everything as comfortable as possible. Bali was a charming and knowledgable guide and our porters and spotters made our sightings possible. We have returned home with wonderful memories and images. Thank you.

The Wildebeest Calving & Big Cat Photo Tour Feb 2026 could not have been any better!

The Wildebeest Calving & Big Cat Photo Tour Feb 2026 could not have been any better! This is my third tour with Images of Wildlife to Tanzania, and once again, Tanzania has delivered. The staff at both the camps we stayed at were remarkable in their helpfulness and demeanour, the food was excellent, and the other guests were great company. Aside from the great spotting, the game vehicle drivers were always helpful and cheerful. and handled the challenging driving circumstances during the rain with great skill. Notably, as a consequence of the rain, the vehicles typically returned to camp covered with mud, but they were consistently wonderfully clean for our next drive. I am immensely grateful to our hosts, Sarah and Chris, for the considerable effort they dedicated to making the tour an unforgettable experience. Their hard work is truly admirable.

R. Geldard (UK) Tanzania Wildebeest calving & Big Cat Photo Tour. Feb 2026

Another amazing trip with Images of Wildlife, Sarah & Chris are excellent hosts.

Another amazing trip with Images of Wildlife, Sarah & Chris are excellent hosts. The planning of the trip delivers a stunning wildlife experience, with constant photographic opportunities, couldn’t ask for more. Special thanks for the way they stepped in, along with the local ground agent Maasi Wanderings, when my bag didn’t arrive on my flight from Nairobi, they did everything they could to get the bag to me asap, without them I think I would still be waiting, as the airline never even contacted me.

We have had such a marvelous time traveling with Images of Wildlife that we just signed up for a 4th tour

We have had such a marvelous time traveling with Images of Wildlife that we just signed up for a 4th tour. An excellent experience for photographers and non-photographers with a keen interest in animal behavior. The guiding, accommodation and food were all top-notch.

Mr & Mrs Bettridg (USA), Tanzania Wildebeest calving & Big Cat Photo Tour. Feb 2026

This was our first safari trip and it was excellent from start to finish.

This was our first safari trip and it was excellent from start to finish. Prior to travelling, we had regular email updates with information covering travel health, visas and packing guidelines. Once in Kenya we always felt looked after and safe. The choice of camp was above our expectations made even more special by the warmth of the staff. The expertise of the photography guides meant as an amateur photographer and a novice, we have both returned with images to be proud of. Images of Wildlife had everything covered so we could relax and enjoy the week. Nothing was too much trouble for Sarah and Chris. Their patience while teaching new photography techniques was greatly appreciated and their love for the wildlife was clear to see. Showing that sometimes we need to leave an animal in peace rather than pushing for a photograph set a great example.

Mr & Mrs Williams, Maasai Mara Photo Safari, Kenya. Nov 2025

I cannot recommend Sarah and her team highly enough for making our trip of a lifetime become a reality.

We had the most fabulous safari honeymoon experience in Kenya with images of wildlife. Our itinerary was mapped out with the great help and expertise of Sarah who managed to book Giraffe Manor ( incredible experience) We also went to the elephant orphanage, where you can see baby elephants being bottle fed . After that we were off to Elewana Tortilis camp based under Killamanjaro so had spectacular views. The food , service and safari tours were exceptional our every need was met and we couldn’t believe how close we got to the animals. After that we were off to the Maasai Mara and stayed in Kicheche camp. We saw all the big cats and our safari guide was incredible at getting really close to them. Loved the service , outdoor breakfasts watching Hippos , sundowners with nibbles watching cheetahs and hyenas. The whole trip really was magical and I cannot recommend Sarah and her team highly enough for making our trip of a lifetime become a reality.

One wishes that all tourist companies come up to your excellent standards

As international travellers, we have undertaken several cosmos tours, tours of American companies, and we found your company to be the best. Ms. Sarah Skinner was most helpful, kind and very prompt in responding to our queries. Your service providers in Nairobi and Maasai Mara were also excellent. One wishes that all tourist companies come up to your excellent standards.

Mr Lakshminarayanan (India) Maasai Mara family Safari. Aug 2025

Our hosts tried hard to make this a great trip for us, their guests - and they succeeded spectacularly. Thank you!

Our trip to Botswana was truly special. All logistical aspects were handled exceptionally professionally and good food cooked in the wilds has a flavour all its own. All this would be academic if the hosting, guiding, and photographic opportunities were disappointing - and they were not. We were presented time and again with unforgettable sights and the photographic advice to make the best of them. Our hosts tried hard to make this a great trip for us, their guests - and they succeeded spectacularly. Thank you

This was an outstanding photo trip which surpassed our expectations in all areas

This was an outstanding photo trip which surpassed our expectations in all areas. Sarah and Chris were exceptional guides with an extensive breadth of knowledge. They were charming company and really good fun and it was clear that they were held in affection by the support camp staff who they knew well from previous tours. We would recommend Images of Wildlife without hesitation as a highly professional and organised company.

Mr & Mrs Macallum-Stewart UK) Botswana Wildlife Photo Safari. July 2025

Botswana felt like a more immersive experience than any safari I have been on before and the absence of any kind of communication with the outside world was something to relish.

Botswana felt like a more immersive experience than any safari I have been on before and the absence of any kind of communication with the outside world was something to relish. The whole task of running and moving the camp was done almost seamlessly so the guests could just enjoy being in the bush with nothing to worry about but the photography.

Each time we travel with Images of Wildlife we return with wonderful memories and new friends

Botswana is my fourth Safari with Images of Wildlife, indeed it is the second time I have been on this particular tour. I had initially planned to do only one trip however the trips are addictive, here are the reasons why. The tour leaders are attentive, knowledgeable, well organised leaving nothing to chance, the quality of accommodation, transport and food is of a very high standard. The tours are very well researched and have been developed over a number of years using the same international guides year in, year out. My first trip to Botswana was truly perfect, the quality of sightings and the lack of other vehicles was astonishing, my concern was whether it could be bettered. This trip was every bit as good, the opportunities to photograph a whole array of wild animals at close range continued throughout the trip. Elephants swimming across the Chobe river, Leopard with kill moving from one tree to another, families of Wild dogs and also of Hyena's, observing close bonds of these and lion cubs with their parents was truly amazing. Too many sighting to mention them all but so many more. The light was amazing, a photographers dream, I also travel with my wife, not a photographer, the sitings often reduced her to tears, happy ones, it was such a wonderful trip. Each time we travel with Images of Wildlife we return with wonderful memories and new friends.

David Wilkinson (UK) Botswana Wildlife Photo Safari. July 2025

Our first trip with Images of Wildlife and it did not disappoint. From start to finish it was first class

Our first trip with Images of Wildlife and it did not disappoint. From start to finish it was first class, welcoming, personal service with an abundance of knowledge second to non. The transfers, camps, guides, vehicles and not forgetting Sarah & Chris's attentive service on our trip was absolutely brilliant, a fabulous trip making memories from our numerous experiences with fellow travellers, interaction with camp staff and the guides too words can't really explain how fantastic this trip was, we will be returning to experience another tour for sure. All I can do is reiterate how absolutely brilliant Sarah & Chris were throughout this trip. Their organisation skills, knowledge and interaction with local people and their guides, camp staff and each other was a please to be part of, we felt relaxed and secure in allowing them to do their job but at the same time feeling there was a very personal and caring connection with guests, leaving as if we really had forged great friendships too

We were always put in the best possible positions to maximize our chances of getting great images.

We enjoyed a superb trip with Sarah, Chris and Bali. They are fun to spend time with and every detail was excellently planned and organized. We were always put in the best possible positions to maximize our chances of getting great images. Photographic tuition and help was freely given and all our questions were answered comprehensively. We will definitely take another trip with ‘Images of Wildlife’

This is my second time on this trip, and I didn't expect it to surpass the first, but it did. We had epic sightings that were mostly exclusive to us, making the experience even more special.

This is my second time on this trip, and I didn't expect it to surpass the first, but it did. We had epic sightings that were mostly exclusive to us, making the experience even more special. Our guides, Simon and Shaban, were both exceptional at spotting animals while driving that we struggled to find with our telephoto lenses. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness were outstanding. During one memorable morning game drive, we encountered a total of 43 lions, including males, females, and cubs, as well as a coalition of three cheetah males and a zebra kill. All the other guests I shared this trip with, none of whom I knew before the trip, played their part in making my time on this trip so special. Sarah and Chris, our hosts, are truly passionate about their work, possess extensive knowledge, and are consistently eager to offer assistance.

The planning and attention to detail that Sarah puts into planning the trip pays off with the excellent sightings of tigers, always making sure the guests are in the best position for taking images.

Another excellent safari with Sarah and Chris. The planning and attention to detail that Sarah puts into planning the trip pays off with the excellent sightings of tigers, always making sure the guests are in the best position for taking images. I would take another trip with Images of Wildlife without hesitation!

Sarah, Chris, and Bali provided an excellent trip to India. The tours were comprehensive and had a focus of making sure we had the best photo opportunities possible. The logistics of the trip were impeccable and the trip was as pleasant and exciting as could be. I would take another trip with Images of Wildlife without hesitation

If you want to see the formidable and majestic Bengal tiger in its natural habitat with hosts who genuinely and passionately care about your experience, then Images of Wildlife is the company of choice.

If you want to see the formidable and majestic Bengal tiger in its natural habitat with hosts who genuinely and passionately care about your experience, then Images of Wildlife is the company of choice. Photography hosts Sarah and Chris, along with naturalist Bali, are all great company and experts in their fields. The game drivers and guides are so knowledgeable and attentive that if anyone is going to find tigers - they will. We were fortunate enough to see tigers on 10 of 11 game drives with some very special close encounters. Game drives aside, the whole trip - from airport pick-up on arrival to final departure was 1st class with very nice quality accommodation and food along with efficient and friendly hotel and lodge staff. With dreams realised and expectations exceeded by miles; my Images of Wildlife Tigers of Bandhavgarh tour is up there in my top 3 all-time favourite adventures. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

If you choose Images of Wildlife, you are in good hands of people who truly care about your experience

It was my good fortune to have this be my second safari with the Images of Wildlife Photo Tours & Bespoke Safari. I signed up with them again after an amazing tour in Botswana in 2023 that put me to tears so profound was the experience of seeing firsthand wildlife in their natural habitat. My tour to the Bandhavgarh National Park was no different. I again just felt pure contentment at having this wonderful opportunity to see the Beautiful Bengal Tigers firsthand. Sarah, Chris and Bali accompanied us each day into the park with our drivers Mukesh, Ram and Ballu. The drivers were great at tracking and spotting the tigers along with additional wildlife. The staff, food and rooms at the Bandhav Villas provide an old world charm that adds to your experience and memories. I will remember fondly a tablecloth placed on the hood of the safari vehicle for lunch with tiffin boxes placed on them with wonderful local cuisine by the Bandhav Vilas to enjoy during our daily game drives. If you choose Images of Wildlife, you are in good hands of people who truly care about your experience and who are so genuine that you have a great time and see tigers, look no further. During my Bandhavgarh National Park stay we had 20 sightings of tigers and some amazing photo opportunities. They are knowledgeable in giving you assistance with any additional help you want with your photography. I would book with Sarah, Chris and Bali without hesitation.

L. Payne (USA) Tigers of Bandhavgarh Photo Tour. (April 2025)

We strongly encourage anyone wanting to see Tigers in their natural habitat to travel to India with Images of Wildlife.

This is our second tour with Images of Wildlife, we loved our first tour and wanted to come back again. We wouldn’t have felt anywhere near as safe and supported travelling to India as young women if we weren’t on a Images of Wildlife photo tour where every aspect is planned in advance. We felt safe and reassured knowing that as soon as we arrived at the airport we would have a guide throughout the whole trip. Of course like all Images of Wildlife tours we experienced amazing wildlife sightings and have returned home with thousands of photographs and memories. We strongly encourage anyone wanting to see Tigers in their natural habitat to travel to India with Images of Wildlife.

A & B FLeming (Aus). Tigers of Bandhavgarh Photo Tour. (April 2025)

This was my first trip with Images of Wildlife and I wasn’t disappointed.

This was my first trip with Images of Wildlife and I wasn’t disappointed. From the initial communication through to being delivered back to the airport at the end of the tour, everything had been well thought out and seamlessly delivered. The experience in Chicham, Himachal Pradesh, will be something that I will never forget - warm and friendly hosts at the homestay, great photography guides and of course the opportunity to see snow leopards. The altitude and terrain made this a memorable adventure. Thank you Andy, Sarah and Bali - you will be seeing me again

H. Darling (NZ) Snow Leopards of Spiti Valley Photo Tour (Feb 2025)

This trip will live in my memory forever as one of the coolest things I have ever done

I was one of the first paying guests to go on this trip and was lucky enough to have three leopard sightings and to come away with the photos to prove it. Dealing with altitude, intensely low temperatures and basic living accommodation are very challenging, but Images of Wildlife have put everything in place to ensure the best outcome. This is not just a snow leopard photoshoot, this is an Himalayan experience that takes place amidst the harshest terrain and most extreme climate anywhere on earth. Images of Wildlife manage despite the challenges to put everything in place that make this a really enjoyable trip. We had great food, Spotters and porters who ensured that we made it to the sightings, skilful drivers and brilliant photo hosts. This trip will live in my memory forever as one of the coolest things I have ever done.

M. Evans (UK) Snow Leopards of Spiti Valley Photo Tour (Feb 2025)

your organisation skills are faultless, everything went to plan

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to see the bears in Canada, and sharing it with a wonderful group of people made it all the better. You and Andy contributed numerous ideas for capturing images that differ from my usual style which I've found is one of the main differentiators for travelling with Images of Wildlife. I really admire your leadership approach; you know how to motivate without being pushy, and your organisation skills are faultless, everything went to plan

Mr R Geldard (UK) Grizzly Bears of Canada. Sept 2024

The best photographic leader we have travelled with,

When travelling with a wildlife photography company I think you want to know 1) that they are 100% focused on you as clients getting the best possible shots you can; 2) that they are happy to invest their time and effort in sharing technical and creative insights with you; 3) that they have the people and organizational skills to deal with any challenges that may arise; and 4), which some seem to forget, is that they are on your holiday, not the other way round. Images of Wildlife delivered on all 4 which made for a very enjoyable first trip with them and one which we will hopefully repeat in the future. Sarah is an incredibly talented and accomplished photographer who is happy to share her knowledge with guests. Her focus is 100% on ensuring guests have the best chance of getting the shots they want but also that they have an enjoyable trip. Her creative insights and reminders to try and shoot differently were really helpful. The best photographic leader we have travelled with (standing alongside Alex Hyde).Thank you Sarah.

Mr & Mrs Richardson (UK) Grizzly Bears of Canada. Sept 2024

They always put their clients first in terms of the photographic opportunities

Firstly, thank you Sarah for all your hard work, and especially the attention to detail, making the trip run so smoothly. What puts Sarah and Andy ahead of many photography tours, and trust me, I’ve sampled many 😉 is their willingness to share techniques and educate their guests at every opportunity. Both during down times and out in the field. They always put their clients first in terms of the photographic opportunities, and they never pick up their cameras until they know their guests are absolutely happy. This, in my opinion is what sets them apart from the rest. I look forward to traveling with them again soon 😉

V. Burton (UK) Grizzly Bears of Canada. Sept 2024

I cannot imagine a safari that could offer a better experience than this.

Sarah and Andy travelled extensively in Botswana and became familiar with the key areas, and even with some of the individual animals, then used their experiences (both good and less good) to build the safaris they now lead. Every single detail has been considered and catered for. The locations selected offer wonderful opportunities to see a wide range of wildlife as well as contrasting scenery. The guides/drivers they work with are highly skilled trackers and knowledgeable photographers, whose patience, great observation and tracking skills and detailed knowledge plus love of their country make them excellent travel companions. (Thank you, Moses and Josta!) The support team in the camps (though not always seen) work efficiently and tirelessly, especially on transit days, and how Eddie the chef creates such tasty and welcome meals is hard to fathom. A cross between camping and glamping (more on the camping side), the accommodation is basic but perfectly adequate and comfortable, and the support staff ensure that blankets, hot water bottles and rechargeable lanterns plus hot water for showers are all to hand when needed and that the campfire is lit to warm the chilly mornings and evenings. I cannot imagine a safari that could offer a better experience than this. We fell in love with the big skies, vast spaces, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and wonderful wild life of Botswana, whilst being looked after really well. We were very lucky to have great sightings and wonderful experiences, and the only difficulty was trying to answer Sarah’s question “What was the best …?” The experience is stored in our memories and hearts, and we have amazing photos to remind us of a really special time. We cannot recommend Images of Wildlife enough.

E Tomkow (UK) Botswana Wildlife Photo safari. July 2024

IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!

IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!! If I could do it all the time I WOULD. Very well organised and thought through. With good communication all the time without hanging and waiting for response. I went with my partner who is not into photography so I was worried she would not enjoy the trip especially having to camp for 9 nights. However, I think she enjoyed it more then me!!! The Hotels in the beginning and the end of the trip were really nice and clean with good food and good facilities. The small number of people definitely helps with photography and we were very lucky to get along really well!!! Everyday was different fulfilled with excitement and adventure!!!!! The Supporting staff- WOW Such NICE PEOPLE always there when you need them and always SOOOOOO POLITE :)))

They are both knowledgeable photographers, not only in how to set up your equipment to shoot, but in anticipating where the best shot will be. They understand animal behavior and transmit that knowledge to their clients. The trackers and camp staff provided a comfortable, in the bush safari experience, in a warm and friendly fashion. I felt as though I was getting Ritz Carlton personal attention in the wilds of Botswana

It was a truly splendid experience. So splendid that I booked again for next year before we parted ways!

This was my second trip to Botswana with Images of Wildlife. Precise and clear communications leading up to the trip, from travel-related information to the very detailed itinerary made planning for the trip easy and I knew what to expect. Our tents were very comfortable and we were very well fed. Most importantly, being in the bush (and completely offline) allowed for a truly immersive experience. The group I traveled with was lovely and we enjoyed many laughs around the campfire in the evening. I so enjoyed touring with Sarah and Chris! They are both such wonderful hosts, guides and teachers and both are also genuinely warm, caring and gracious and have a wonderful sense of humor. As an enthusiastic and somewhat experienced photographer I learned so much from both of them; there were plenty of opportunities during the trip to improve both my technical and creative photography skills. Our drivers/trackers were also great; they readily shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for the places and wildlife we observed. The vehicles were set-up perfectly for game viewing; one passenger per row makes a huge difference. In addition to the observation of the megafauna species everyone gets excited about (lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, etc.), there was plenty of opportunity to learn more about the ecosystems we were in and observe and photograph other species of birds, animals and flora. It was a truly splendid experience. So splendid that I booked again for next year before we parted ways!

Photo guides and safari guides are excellent.

Images of Wildlife Tours are an amazing way to view wildlife. Photo guides and safari guides are excellent. Accommodations and food were amazing.

I cannot praise their leadership of the tour more highly

Our Images of Wildlife guides Sarah and Chris were always on hand to provide any help when needed, nothing was too much for them. They both have an abundant knowledge of the wildlife, making the trip so enjoyable. Even though they were taking photographs for themselves, they always put the guests' needs before their own. I cannot praise their leadership of the tour more highly. Their dedication and expertise truly made the experience unforgettable, so much so that I have already booked to go again next year.

R. Geldard (UK) Tanzania Serengeti Photo safari. June 2024

Best trip yet!

Best trip yet! I said this following our trip to Canada, again after Botswana - some how you guys continually deliver the most amazing sights and photographic opportunities year on year. Sarah and Chris, a great team, both always putting the guests first, throughout the trip they continually ask whether we are happy, do we need any help or guidance, always offered in a very professional way. Sarah and I have travelled together previously, not only is she a very well organised tour leader she is also a very good photographer, often offering alternative ways of photographing the subjects creatively. I have returned from each trip, this one being number 3 always feeling enriched with the knowledge she has shared with all the guests. First time travelling with Chris, he is without doubt a gent. His knowledge of our natural habitat and the wildlife we came across was very good, he too has a thirst for gaining further knowledge of our subjects and his passion for photography was very obvious throughout the trip. We were so impressed with his enthusiastic manner we have booked a 4th trip next year.

D. Wilkinson (UK) Tanzania Serengeti Photo safari. June 2024

Sarah & Chris were the perfect hosts

Both locations are perfect for wildlife, the camps are excellent, showing the thought and dedication Sarah puts into planning and arranging the trips. Sarah & Chris were the perfect hosts, always on hand and helpful and made sure everyone had a good view at the sighting.

Their slogan should be 'THE CLIENT COMES FIRST'. I couldn't have asked for more from Sarah and Chris.

I have recently returned from a photo tour to India with Images of Wildlife and the main reason it was such a success was the company's determination to put the client first. I was offered all the photographic help I needed (and I really needed it), where to position myself for the best shots, my welfare constantly checked and so on. Their slogan should be 'THE CLIENT COMES FIRST'. I couldn't have asked for more from Sarah and Chris. Aa memorable tour, thank you so much.

I’d recommend this trip one hundred per cent!

The Grizzly Bears of Canada trip is a wonderful experience. The location is an ideal place to view and photograph grizzly bears, enabling close-ups of the bears’ activities and wider angles of the animals in their environment. I’d recommend this trip one hundred per cent!

Mr. & Mrs Downing (UK) Grizzly Bears of Canada. Sept 2023

We highly recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to book on any of their tours again.

Andy and Sarah are excellent photographic hosts, extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of their tours. Very friendly and approachable hosts who go out of their way to solve any issue that may arise. We highly recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to book on any of their tours again.

There is a reason that Images of Wildlife get so many repeat bookings

This was the first time that Images of Wildlife have been to Slovenia and I was not disappointed. We had very good sightings of the Brown Bears and, although the light was a little tricky, both Sarah and Chris gave excellent advice. In addition we were treated to an excellent tour of the Krishna Jana Cave System with a very helpful and keen guide and lots of time to take pictures. There is a reason that Images of Wildlife get so many repeat bookings, Sarah, Andy and Chris are all so friendly and their expertise makes every trip a treat. Its no wonder that I feel that I am going on holiday with old friends when I book a trip with them

C. Felton (UK) Brown Bears of Slovenia. Aug 2023

As close to perfection as you can get

As close to perfection as you can get. Quick answers to all questions. Legal and financial safeguards made clear. Before departure very comprehensive pre-trip information detailing personal and photographic equipment requirements. During the trip extremely efficient management. Very supportive help if needed with camera settings etc. Sarah and Chris constantly worked hard to make sure that the client’s satisfaction and enjoyment came first. Result: I had a brilliant trip, lots of fun and I am pleased with my photographs. I consider Sarah and Chris to be my friends and I look forward to travelling with them again. In fact, as close to perfection as you can get.

This was without doubt one of our best trips away and it surpassed our expectations

This was without doubt one of our best trips away and it surpassed our expectations in all aspects. The guides were great and the organisation from start to finish was without fault. Andy and Sarah were charming, knowledgable, helpful and full of fun. The trip location was superlative and the guides were skilled in finding bears and then manoeuvring the boats to achieve good camera angles”

Sue & Peter MacCallum Stewart (UK) Grizzly Bears of Canada. Sept 2023

I have nothing but esteem for the organization, execution, and productivity of this tour.

Our photography host (Andy) did an exceptional job of keeping the tour on schedule, no small task; indeed, it was a multi-headed monster that he managed with alacrity, assuring that we left a site on time and arrived at the next site on time. The whole operation unfolded beautifully with staff arriving before clients to set up the mobile camps and always having everything ready — tents, tables, and food —when we arrived at the various camps. We happily burned both ends of the candle and we milked every day for every minute afield, and the leader’s commitment to photography time, the centerpiece of the trip, was flat-out exceptional because it never wavered. Andy demonstrated the perfect temperament and skill for his task. He is calm, knowledgeable, possessed of a keen sense of humor and deeply invested himself in the wildlife photography he offered clients. I have nothing but esteem for the organization, execution, and productivity of this tour.

L Stone (USA) Botswana Wildlife Photo Safari. July 2023

There are no words to describe how much I enjoyed touring with Sarah and Andy: they are both such wonderful photography hosts, guides and teachers and both are also genuinely warm, caring and gracious and have a wonderful sense of humor. Each has their own way of teaching and problem solving. As an enthusiastic and somewhat experienced photographer I learned so much from both of them; there were plenty of opportunities during the trip to improve both my technical and creative photography skills. Highlights for me included documenting a leopardess with her kill in a tree defend it from another leopard seeking a tasty snack (and perhaps he also had amorous intentions?), leopard and lion cubs and wild dog pups galore, elephants in herds and crossing rivers, hippos yawning widely enough to swallow the horizon, innumerable birds, ungulates and other species and traversing through different types of terrain and forests. It was a truly splendid experience. So splendid that I booked again for next year before we parted ways!

R. Tripathi (USA) Botswana Wildlife Photo Safari. July 2023

I wouldn’t travel with any other guiding company, I genuinely felt blessed!

This is my second trip with Images of Wildlife, both Andy and Sarah guided us on this tour of Botswana. Once again, the extremely high standard of organization was apparent from booking to the end of the tour. In the bush we stayed in tents, the team looked after us so well it was if their lives depended on it, we ate a wonderful variety of prepared food round a camp fire each evening, camaraderie between guests, hosts and camp staff was wonderful, I will treasure the memory until I return in 2025. Wild life viewings were beyond my greatest expectations, top of my list were the wild dogs, not only did I see a small pack hunting, I witnessed at very close quarters puppies playing, the site of which brought a tear to my eye, it wasn’t the last time I was overwhelmed with emotion. So many sightings, 4 male Chetahs together, Leopards, one carrying a Impala carcass up a tree, Lions with cubs, Sable, Roan, Monkeys, Elephants with young at their feet, amazing opportunities to photograph in beautifully lit conditions, back lit, silhouettes and reflections in the water scrapes. So many other species and birds, too many to mention, the opportunities were endless. Sarah and Andy were always on hand to help or advice if requested, often offering alternative ways of photographing the subjects, I found this very informative and without doubt has helped my photographic journey. The drivers / guides, Moses and Joster were exceptionally good, they knew where to be and when to be there, positioning the vehicles to aid our photography, happy to reposition when required. We finished the tour with a two-day stay in a very smart hotel on the Chobe river, the accommodation and food was first class with plenty of food choices, the opportunity to photograph water birds, hippo’s elephants actually crossing the river, Croc’s and Pied Kingfishers but to name a few was a fitting end to this remarkable trip. I would strongly recommend this trip, I would also recommend Andy and Sarah as excellent guides, very knowledgeable and excellent companions to travel with. I wouldn’t travel with any other guiding company, I genuinely felt blessed!

D. Wilkinson (UK) Botswana Wildlife Photo Safari. July 2023

I recommend you highly for anyone who truly wants to feel immersed in an up close bush safari experience.

The Botswana safari was an experience beyond my wildest dreams, one that had me emotional at times as you know, so overwhelmed with wonderful opportunity to see wildlife in their natural environment.  To see the extensive variety of animals and their young in safe but close proximity to me was amazing. To sit around the campfire in the morning, or evening hearing the sounds of lions, hippos, elephants and many more, left me awestruck and appreciative of this very unique opportunity. The whole support team were amazing and as was the food. It was amazing how Eddie and staff provided these wonderful meals in the bush. I recommend you highly for anyone who truly wants to feel immersed in an up close bush safari experience.

It was a great trip,well-organized and with wonderful wildlife sightings

Mr & Mrs Downing (UK) Tanzania Photo Safari. June 2023

I immediately felt at home with both Andy and Sarah ensuring that I got the most from the experience.

Tanzania was my first Photo Safari and I was the novice in the group. Notwithstanding this I immediately felt at home with both Andy and Sarah ensuring that I got the most from the experience. They offered and shared both photographic and wild life expertise which was extremely useful to me and I think to the rest of the group. The trip was intensive, particularly as we usually did an all day drive, leaving before sunrise and getting back after sunset. This maximised the opportunity for seeing all sorts of wildlife with both breakfast and lunch being taken in the bush. Two particular highlights for me were the Wildebeest migration and the opportunity to spend time watching a pride of lions with 7 males which I am assured is very unusual. The camps were superb and the standards of both the food and accommodation is very high. Again the hosts ensured that a fairly diverse set of people rapidly became a cohesive group which made the whole trip even more enjoyable.

Tigers of Bandhavgarh was our first trip with Images of Wildlife and was superbly organised.

Tigers of Bandhavgarh was our first trip with Images of Wildlife and was superbly organised. The information prior to the trip was comprehensive and removed the need for asking questions that often arise with other tour operators. Once in India, everything went smoothly as Andy and Sarah had been very careful in their choice of location, hotels and above all, the local naturalist they use.

Mr & Mrs Locock ('Tigers of Bandhavgarh, India) April 2023

Traveling with Sarah and Andy is like traveling with family. You know you are in good hands

Visiting Bandhavgarh National Park to see tigers was my third safari with Images of Wildlife, and there will definitely be more in the future. Sarah and Andy work hard to prepare every aspect of their trips, from providing detailed planning information well in advance, to resolving last-minute questions; from selecting comfortable accommodations with friendly and helpful staff; to providing the best of support at all times. Traveling with Sarah and Andy is like traveling with family. You know you are in good hands, well cared for, and the clients they attract are interesting people who are fun to travel with. I highly recommend their tours!

Another wonderful trip with Images of Wildlife!

Another wonderful trip with Images of Wildlife! The grizzly bears were out in big numbers and I got some excellent shots. The guides, the staff at the lodge and the accommodation as well as the food was excellent too. I can highly recommend this tour!

H. Moeller (Grizzly Bears of Canada) Sept 2022

I have returned with some stunning images

This tour offers clients the opportunity to photograph Brown Bears from boats at eye level much of the time. Very comfortable accommodation and plenty of food. It was a real privilege to be a part of this tour as it was my first time seeing a Grizzly bear. Sighting were very regular and of good quality. The environment on the Chilco River gives any different opportunities to photograph the bears in different light , so would be especially appealing for creative wildlife photographers . I was able to successfully apply these techniques taught to me by Andy. Thankfully I have returned with some stunning images. Thank you again.

J. Woodland. (Grizzly Bears of Canada) Sept 2022

Andy and Sarah worked tirelessly to make sure all their guests were able to have an amazing time

I have been lucky enough to travel with Andy and Sarah (Images of Wildlife) on several photography trips. I am consistently impressed with the level of detail, care, organization, and passion that they put into their trips. At each stop on this tour, we were set up for success and both Andy and Sarah worked tirelessly to make sure all their guests were able to have an amazing time. They constantly ensure that at every photographic opportunity we have the best chance of capturing wonderful images. The accommodations were very appropriate and were well positioned to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities. This trip was incredibly fun and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Pantanal.

The opportunity to photograph Grizzly bears in their natural surroundings at close quarters and at times in beautiful light was an experience I will never forget.

This is our first trip with Andy and Sarah, we booked it following a recommendation from a friend and reading the testimonials, many from returning customers. On this occasion Andy was our guide, his passion for wildlife and photography was clearly evident, endeavoring to ensure we were in the best position whenever possible and on hand to help and offer advice if requested, lifting this trip to a higher level. The standard of accommodation was very high, the cuisine was excellent, my wife has a gluten intolerance, however the chef ensured all her meals were gluten free. The trip was amazing from the initial meet and greet to the time we departed, the opportunity to photograph Grizzly bears in their natural surroundings at close quarters and at times in beautiful light was an experience I will never forget. It was very obvious to us that a great deal of time and effort had gone into organizing this trip. My wife is a wildlife enthusiast, not a photographer, however she has said this was her most enjoyable trip to date and like me would be very happy to recommend this trip to photographer or watcher as an opportunity not to miss.

Yet another wonderful photo tour with Images of Wildlife

This was my husbands and my third photo tour with Images of Wildlife. It is worth noting that my husband is not a photographer, but loves the exceptional animal sightings as much as anyone. This tour was fantastic from start to finish, possibly our best yet. After reading other testimonials I can only reiterate how well organised their tours are. We needn't have been concerned as Sarah and Chris, who are delightful company had thought of everything. They have a very experienced team with Joster and Moses with their astonishing tracking skills and the lovely camp support team. We were often on our own at animal sightings and photographic technical support was always on hand. I learned new skills and honed old ones, managing some of my best ever photos. I am already planning our 4th tour!

Travelling with Images of Wildlife was a fantastic experience

Travelling with Images of Wildlife was a fantastic experience. Sarah and Chris shared their knowledge and provided helpful advice to ensure that all levels of photographer were able to take great photos. They held interesting nightly photography information sessions. Our local guides were fantastic trackers which ensured we had many sightings of animals including elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, lions, leopards and cheetah. We were frequently the only cars at animal sightings. The camp staff prepared tasty meals and made our time camping extremely comfortable. It was an amazing experience to hear animals at night when we were sleeping in our tents. I recommend Images of Wildlife to anyone interested in wildlife. You don’t need to be interested in photography to have a memorable holiday with them.

I can’t wait to travel with Images of Wildlife again

This beautifully-organized wildlife workshop delivered in every way. Sarah and Chris were a brilliant leadership team, making sure everyone’s settings were on track and enthusiastically sharing valuable lessons about our equipment, lighting opportunities and animal behaviour. Both were charming and cheerful and always prepared to help anyone anywhere. The driver guides (who are have worked with the team before) were also phenomenal and fun. Their tracking abilities, respect for the wild and understanding of photographers’ needs was exemplary. The wildlife sightings were beyond my expectations, the camping accommodations superb, the food amazing and the friendships forged fabulous. I can’t wait to travel with Images of Wildlife again. Are

Overall, this was the best holiday I have ever been on. This experience blew my expectations out of the water by far.

Overall, this was the best holiday I have ever been on. This experience blew my expectations out of the water by far. Before this tour I had very minimal photographic knowledge, I’d only ever attended one class and had forgotten most of the information/what all the settings are. Sarah and Chris were great with being able to meet everyone at their level and provide assistance as desired. The nightly lectures really helped build an understanding of new skills/techniques I’d never heard of before. The amount of time spent at sightings also gave plenty of opportunities to try new things and play around with settings to get the best out of the experience, but Sarah and Chris were always there if you needed the fast answers to capture the perfect moment in a rush. The weather was beautiful, the scenery was beautiful, we got to see some amazing animals and behaviours and be quite close without them being disturbed. It was an amazing experience to watch these wild animals in their own environment and be so close to them without them being bothered by our presence. It was perfect camping throughout the trip so that we were nice and close to the animals and could hear them while we were in bed at night, the support team also made it the perfect experience by doing all the camp jobs for us so we could spend all of our time out with the animals. The care and service provided by the support team was outstanding.

Another fabulous experience with Images of Wildlife

Another fabulous experience with Images of Wildlife. It was great to see Sarah again and to meet Chris, Josta and Moses. The variety of wildlife we saw was incredible and it was wonderful to watch the animals in their natural habitat. I now have thousands of photos to look through and edit. I look forward to another trip before too long. Thank you

Sarah and Chris provided excellent photography tuition on a daily basis and went out of their way to make sure everyone’s needs were accommodated

If you are considering a photography safari then Images of Wildlife should be at the top of your list. The value for money is great and the experiences you will have out in the bush will provide lifelong memories. Sarah and Chris provided excellent photography tuition on a daily basis and went out of their way to make sure everyone’s needs were accommodated. I cannot rate them highly enough and will definitely be back in the future.

Ashleigh Fleming (Australia) (Botswana Wildlife Photo Safari. July 2022)

The safari was very well organized and you really feel you make the most of every moment as the whole focus is on seeing the animals and spending as much time in that environment as possible.

This is the second wildlife photo safari I’ve been on with Andy and Sarah as a non-photographer accompanying my partner who is a wildlife photographer. Both the first time (Masai Mara in Kenya) and this safari in Botswana were amazing experiences which I will never forget. You don’t need to be a photographer to enjoy them. The safari was very well organized and you really feel you make the most of every moment as the whole focus is on seeing the animals and spending as much time in that environment as possible. I loved the mobile camping – it’s a great adventure to be in a tent listening to the sounds of the animals like hyenas and hippos. The hosts, the drivers, support team and other guests were a lovely friendly group. I’m looking forward to going on another tour with Andy and Sarah in the future - possibly to Brazil to see the Amazon rainforest next time.

"They always position the jeeps in the perfect position for the light and subject. Their organisational skills are fantastic, there’s nothing ever left to chance"

This was the second Safari Tour we’ve been on. Chris and Sarah are such amazing hosts, they always make you feel welcomed with a big smile. They are very relaxing to be with, and are very knowledgeable with any photographic technique questions. They always position the jeeps in the perfect position for the light and subject. Their organisational skills are fantastic, there’s nothing ever left to chance. I wish I had more vacation allowance so I could go on more Trips.

I recently travelled with Sarah and Chris on the Botswana trip, here we had some amazing sightings of leopard, elephant, cheetah and wild dog. The safari is well planned out, from the itinerary to the local team used, the food is excellent, and the local guides are very knowledgeable and their wildlife spotting is amazing. I have been on two trips with Andy and Sarah now and can without hesitation recommend Images of Wildlife as your photo safari hosts. Andy and Sarah are expert on both animal behaviour and photographic technique and regularly got us into the right position for what was going to happen next. This combined with excellent real time advice meant that I got photographs I would otherwise have missed. In the heat of the moment this is the key thing to look for. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you get a chance to join Andy and Sarah on a trip I can highly recommend it.

I had a wonderful time with Andy and Sarah on the Tigers of Bandhavgarh trip. From the moment we were picked up at Delhi Airport till we were dropped back at the end of the trip everything ran smoothly and to plan. Andy and Sarah were excellent hosts and Balvinder, our naturalist was a font of knowledge. Our game drive vehicles were clean and tidy and the drivers and guides very good. We were fortunate to see tigers virtually every trip out during the trip and also saw an elephant, others also saw sloth bears, leopards and wild dogs saw there is plenty of wildlife to find. I returned home very happy with my photographs of tigers. The accommodation and food was all also excellent. If you get a chance to join Andy and Sarah on a trip I can highly recommend it. I left with fantastic memories and new friends.

Andy and Sarah excel at everything, from organisation prior to and during the tour to taking care of your every need whilst on tour

Botswana, what can I say? I love the country and travelling with Andy and Sarah it is always going to be a good tour. We had some wonderful sightings, from leopards in trees, to lions fighting, to a cobra with a kill (bird)!, to wild dogs galore and even flying pigs! (well warthog actually). Andy and Sarah excel at everything, from organisation prior to and during the tour to taking care of your every need whilst on tour. I’m sure it must be a very difficult task at times but they never complain about a thing and are always there to make sure you are enjoying yourself, putting their clients before themselves in everything they do. I can’t wait until my next trip with them.

C. Butterworth, UK (Botswana, October 2019)

They both look after their clients and their client's photography always comes first

Travelling with Andy and Sarah is always a pleasure. I can honestly say that on their trips there are never any worries or concerns as they both look after their clients and their client's photography always comes first unlike some professional photographers I have travelled with previously. The camping experience is, for me, the absolute best way to experience the wildlife. It’s much more fun and particularly with the team of guide/drivers that Andy and Sarah use. I would not hesitate to do this trip again and I have booked the Kalahari trip with them in 2020. Thank you both for a wonderful experience.

J. Taylor, UK (Botswana. October 2019)

This was our first trip with Andy & Sarah and we had the most amazing experience.

This was our first trip with Andy & Sarah and we had the most amazing experience. From the moment we all met as a group, we were made to feel welcome and included. The game drives and sightings were special and our guides did everything they could to put us in the best position for taking photos without being intrusive on the wildlife. The mobile camping was an adventure and gave the trip a much rawer and authentic wildlife experience. The support team, which included our own chef, were always one step ahead in setting up camp, cooking meals and lighting the fire for when we were awakened for breakfast and also when we returned from the evening game drive for a G&T around the campfire. Andy and Sarah shared their photographic skills and experiences with all the guests and catered for whatever level of experience was required. Having only four guests in each jeep meant photographic opportunities were maximized. Great memories – already planning our next trip with Andy & Sarah.

Delightful hosts who are passionate about the wildlife, the environment and photography

I have always had a camera and over the years have taken thousands of photographs. After this tour I have a new understanding of the camera, of the settings I use routinely, of the images I am trying to achieve and of techniques to obtain interesting pictures. There is no doubt that the pictures taken at the end of the tour are much better than those taken at the beginning. In addition we have seen a huge amount of wildlife and have had a fun holiday with interesting people and delightful hosts who are passionate about the wildlife, the environment and photography

M. Charig, UK (Botswana, October 2019)

It was faultless from start to finish,

I Just had to write to thank you for organising such an amazing holiday to the Mara. It was faultless from start to finish, everything went according to plan from the meet and greet at the airport in Nairobi to our final goodbyes to Kenya. Josephat was incredible. We couldn’t have asked for more. From his friendly welcome at the Mara strip, his wealth of knowledge, his driving skills and to his positioning/repositioning to get me the best shots was second to none

This is truly a trip of a lifetime!

This is truly a trip of a lifetime! Don and I had been to Africa approximately 15 years ago and we did expect to see animals prior to going but we were blown away by this safari. We not only spent time finding the wildlife but we became immersed in the moment with each sighting! The male lion sharing a warthog with several cubs was unbelievable but then to add the three jackals that were circling waiting for scraps was unreal. We learned not only photography (in both day and evening lighting) but also animal behavior by watching and waiting. The guides were very skilled at finding the wildlife and following them as shown by the morning that they found the pack of wild dogs. We followed the wild dogs for approximately two hours watching them attempt to capture prey, which ended in their taking prey from a leopard and her cub. We were fearful that the wild dogs would make prey of the cub. Fortunately the cub was very smart and climbed up a tree quickly. My husband, with the assistance of Andy and Sarah, took over 6,000 pictures and video on this safari. The quality of the photographs was enhanced with the patient expertise of our hosts. Education of the cameras, lighting, positioning, and the use of different venues exceeded our expectations. Great Job!!

I would definitely recommend traveling with Images of Wildlife.

What a fantastic trip! I would definitely recommend traveling with Images of Wildlife. From the first initial correspondence to the final day, the service I received was fantastic. Once we were out on the trip, everything was catered for. The game viewing that we saw was fantastic from being with lions right through their hunt to watching elephants in the water. The food was unbelievable, the same meal was never repeated and the camp staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much. I would love to return one day

Every time I leave one of their trips I feel I have taken my photography to another level

It is no surprise that my most recent trip with Andy and Sarah was filled with great photographic opportunities, as this is always the case with their photographic trips. They always work hard to maximise your photographic opportunities, and being great guides as well as photographers, they work tirelessly to ensure everyone goes home with great quality images. What sets Andy and Sarah apart from the rest, and I have been on a number of tours in my time with several different tour guides, is the attention to detail. Sarah is a pheonominal organiser and no stone is left unturned or anything left to chance. And when the unexpected does happen, they calmly resolve any issues quickly and with the minimum fuss. In addition, it is the way they suggest methods you can try in order to improve your photography, not pushing anyone if they don't want to, but always providing the opportunity to learn more. Every time I leave one of their trips, I feel I have taken my photography to another level, just proving 'you're never too old to learn'. They also do all of the above in a calm and relaxed manner, resulting in their guests enjoying their time away, having fun, and making their trips, an 'adventure of a lifetime'. Everyone's needs are considered, and nothing is too much trouble for them. As stated before, I have been with many other tours, but and having tried the rest, I really do feel now that I have found the best! Thanks Again Sarah and Andy for another memorable trip 🙂

Sarah and Andy are just plain fun to be with, they really feel more like friends than guides

My husband and I and friends Hamish and Jodie have just returned from a trip to Bandhavgarh in India photographing stunning Bengal Tigers. I have been to India a number of times and I love it but it can be daunting for the uninitiated, however Sarah and Andy take care of EVERY detail. Their tours are very personalised. You are shepherded from aeroplane to taxi to jeep etc. So if you are tempted but concerned about the particular country and its safety, DON'T be. With regard to the photography both Andy and Sarah are a wealth of artistic and technical information both in the field and back at the accomodation. Back in Australia now I fondly reflect on Sarah in the jeep urging 'test shot, test shot' when a tiger was about to come into view. My photography has certainly improved . I achieved some amazing shots of tigers and learned new techniques. Having said that 2 of our party of 4 were not photographers and had a marvellous time with the thrill of tracking and observing these majestic cats as well as the myriad of birdlife, and other mammals in the park including a fantastic sighting of a sloth bear. As a final comment I would add that Sarah and Andy are just plain fun to be with. They really feel more like friends than guides which is nice as I would not hesitate to go on further trips with them on my own. Indeed I have booked my third tour for next year and have others on my bucket list.

Andy and Sarah were always there to help they never stopped making sure everyone was cared for

I'm so glad I booked this, what an amazing experience to see Bengal Tigers and the chance to photograph them as well. We had Tiger sightings everyday including mating Tigers and cubs. I remember the first time tracking a tigers foot prints then sitting in our jeep in silence listening for alarm calls, a spotted deer calls and the driver shouts Tiger Tiger and we set off in that direction. I had goose bumps it's a brilliant feeling. Andy and Sarah were always there to help they never stopped making sure everyone was cared for. The location was in a great place with easy access to the zones and the accommodation was great too. I would highly recommend this Tiger Tour you will not be disappointed Bandhavgarh is a wonderful place

When we travel with Andy and Sarah we know the whole experience of spending a week with a photography-minded group is going to be good and this was no exception

This was our third trip with Andy and Sarah, but our first-ever India trip. I’ll be honest when I say I didn’t really know what to expect (we’ve been to Africa numerous times but we know India’s quite different), but this trip exceeded all of my expectations. Seeing your first tiger in the wild may cause a bit of a mental meltdown, but every sighting after that is very special too! There’s just something magical about one of these amazing cats walking out of the forest, and then blending in with the landscape like a ghost. On our trip we were extremely lucky; including our extension to Kanha (also a very nice place) we had 16 drives and we had a tiger sighting (or multiple) on each drive! But apart from the tigers, there’s also plenty of other things to photograph. We had a great time for example with the langur monkeys. And the landscape of the parks is beautiful as well. Do keep in mind that things work a bit different in India (for example, the way permits are allocated and the vehicles, which are a bit more compact than the ones you’d find in Africa), but this is just how things work best over there. Go with the flow and enjoy yourself! Of course, Andy and Sarah made sure everything else was perfectly in order; from the info package up from to the lodge; everything was taken care of in the best way possible and our local host and naturalist, Bali, is a class guy with tons of knowledge about the wildlife and local customs. When we travel with Andy and Sarah we know the whole experience of spending a week with a photography-minded group is going to be good and this was no exception. We had a lot of fun and laughs and we already missed them the minute we headed off for our private extension. All in all, it was an amazing trip! Thanks again, and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure together!

I just can’t say enough good things about the Images of Wildlife team and their tours

This was my second photo safari with Andy and Sarah, and one of the other guests was on her eighth trip with them. The repeat business speaks volumes for the experience they provide. It isn’t just the animals – though we saw leopards on rocks and in trees; lions ranging from totally comatose to watching from a termite mound to chasing off a hippo that intruded on their rest; cheetahs stuffing their bellies on a young wildebeest; zebras by the hundreds, and wildebeest as far as the eye could see. We even saw a rhino, which was magical in these days of their persecution. We also saw loads of birds, from various eagles contesting possession of their supper to the flamboyant lilac-breasted rollers to flamingos posing in the lake. One of the things that made the trip great was the comfortable atmosphere Andy and Sarah build from the first. The guests all cooperated in turning up on time for game drives, lending each other small items like a spare charger, and just in learning from each other. We were mutually supportive of each other’s photo endeavors – it felt like family. Andy and Sarah regularly offered suggestions on camera settings and also on possible artistic alternatives such as slow panning, high-key and low-key exposures. Though the days were very full, with game drives heading out before dawn, rest time after lunch, and another game drive from mid-afternoon until park curfew, they even managed some instruction on using Lightroom. I just can’t say enough good things about the Images of Wildlife team and their tours!

I've just ended a photo safari in the Serengeti with Sarah and Andy and only have one word - wow!

I've just ended a photo safari in the Serengeti with Sarah and Andy and only have one word - wow! The trip exceeded my expectations, with incredible wildlife sightings and diverse photographic opportunities. I was a little concerned about heading to the Serengeti, with its reputation for large number of vehicles at sightings - but thanks to Andy and Sarah's meticulous planning and guiding experience, we enjoyed many sightings on our own and spent hours exploring areas that few others visit. It felt like travelling with friends who just happen to be talented photographers and qualified guides. Sarah and Andy are also great teachers and although we were a group with different photography skills and objectives, I felt we all left having learned something new, in a relaxed environment that motivated us all to keep shooting and striving for that next great shot! Massive thanks to you both and to Simon and Mohammed, our wonderful local guides. I'm already scanning your website for my next trip with you

Every trip is well arranged, with optimum wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities

Have travelled with these guys now quite a few times to some fab destinations - Kenya, India, Botswana and Canada. Every trip is well arranged, with optimum wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities, great company and life-long memories - what more could you ask for? Do it!

J. Downey. UK (Kenya, Botswana, Canada, India)

Sarah and Andy made sure of every detail, and advised each of us about photography according to our skill level and our objectives. They are absolutely there for the guests.

The photo safari to Botswana is an absolutely amazing experience! The two main reasons it’s so incredible are the diversity and abundance of wildlife, and the tour operators, Sarah and Andy Skinner. On this tour in July 2018, we saw leopards for six days straight (admittedly exceptional luck), wild dogs and their pups, lion prides and cubs, young lions and male lion coalitions, elephants in amazing numbers, with adorable youngsters, giraffes, zebras, hippos, lechwe, kudu, impalas, wildebeest and buffalo. And the bird life was fascinating too – everything from rare wattled cranes and ostriches, saddle-billed storks, African fish eagle and other eagles, down to skimmers and kingfishers. Andy and Sarah are amazing, too. From the first contact I made with questions about the tour, they answered in great detail with descriptions, suggestions where I requested them, and such a cheerful openness that I was confident I had made the right choice. And that confidence was borne out every day on tour. Sarah and Andy made sure of every detail, and advised each of us about photography according to our skill level and our objectives. They are absolutely there for the guests, forgoing what could be wonderful photographic opportunities for themselves to make sure the guest have good views, the right exposures, and insights and information about the animals. I just can’t say enough good things about them – they are all about their guests, all the time. The local guides were very good and quite knowledgeable, cheerfully answering questions, positioning the vehicles for good photography conditions, and tracking wildlife for early sightings in wonderful morning light to sunset silhouettes. The support team provided a variety of great food and very comfortable tent accommodations set up for us in the three sites – Moremi, Savuti, and Khwai. The last night, with a boat trip on the Chobe River, is icing on the cake, featuring swimming elephants and other mammals, plus a wide variety of birds. The trip as a whole can be tiring, because you are up before dawn for early morning sightings, out until lunch, taking a short rest break before the afternoon game drive, then out again until sunset. Back at camp before dinner, there’s always a great fire to relax around with a choice of drinks, sharing stories and thoughts from the day. Then a good dinner, and a comfortable camp bed, as good as beds I’ve had in some hotels, to be honest. I don’t begrudge a minute of the lost sleep, as everything is organized to maximize photo opportunities in the field. Take LOTS of memory cards!! If you choose this trip, prepare to be amazed!

The trip was so well-organised, we really got the most of our time in the Mara. Andy and Sarah are great hosts

Martin and I had an amazing adventure on safari in Masai Mara with Andy and Sarah. Although I'm not a photographer, I loved being out seeing the animals and ended up taking 1000 photos on my Lumix! The trip was so well-organised, we really got the most of our time in the Mara. Andy and Sarah are great hosts, easy-going and knowledgeable about the wildlife and photography. Martin and I haven't stopped talking about the safari and are already hoping to book another one with Andy and Sarah - possibly Botswana 2020? Earlier if we win the lottery 🙂 Many thanks for giving us such a fantastic experience.

This was our second tour with Sarah and Andy, and both times they have been excellent

This was our second tour with Sarah and Andy, and both times they have been excellent. Their knowledge of photography, using the right camera settings, and encouraging us to try new skills was second to none. They are really friendly, always happy to help, and ultimately want you to get the best out of your trip. I honestly don’t think that I’ve laughed so much on a group holiday , it was such fun! I couldn’t fault anything about this trip, from the guys that meet you at the airport, to the hotel in Nairobi, the amazing flight to the Maasai Mara, the fabulous Intrepids Camp, the drivers, the food……. But above all, Sarah and Andy and the animals of the Maasai Mara. Quite simply, once you have been to the Mara, it will call you back again and again! Each time I go, I find it harder and harder to leave

J. Garvey, UK. Maasai Mara. June 2018

This was not the first photographic safari that I have been on, but it was definitely the best

This was not the first photographic safari that I have been on, but it was definitely the best. Sarah and Andy were always on hand to give advice on the best exposure / shutter speed to use. They also encouraged us to try new techniques to make our pictures stand out. Even when we were back at base they were happy to take time to help me with a problem I was having in using Lightroom. I’d definitely recommend them if you want to go on a safari, even if you are only a beginner with a basic camera.

C. Felton, UK. Maasai Mara. June 2018

Andy and Sarah are fantastic hosts and photographers

This trip was absolutely amazing and a once in a lifetime experience to see tigers in their natural habitat. We were lucky enough to see tigers on 10 out of 11 of our drives, sometimes as close as in front of our jeep. Andy and Sarah are fantastic hosts and photographers, helping wherever necessary in terms of camera settings and editing. The hotel was great too, with delicious food, fabulous staff and a lovely pool for relaxing in-between drives. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

This was my 6th trip with Andy and Sarah - so I think that speaks volumes

This was my 6th trip with Andy and Sarah - so I think that speaks volumes - and I have more lined up - so again, I would recommend them in a heartbeat (and have done so to a number of people already!) . Seeing tigers in the wild is my passion, so my expectations were high and this trip met them! Andy and Sarah are passionate about wild-life and are keen to share that passion with their clients. They are attentive, good with detail and nothing is too much trouble to ensure that their clients get the best experience possible. They use excellent local contacts and each trip is well researched beforehand. They are knowledgeable about cameras and post-production too; and are more than happy to share their knowledge - while on the trip and even afterwards - which is great! They are very good with all clients and camera types 🙂 and more importantly - fun, and a pleasure to be with! So, if you've read this, then what are you waiting for - check out a trip now!

I cannot recommend them highly enough

This is my second trip with Sarah and Andy, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Being a novice with a DSLR, I feel that I learn a lot from them both. Their knowledge and patience with me is not something I come across often, and I feel very lucky and fortunate to have met them. They create a safe environment to develop my photographic skills in my own time. No pressure at all from their side on me to learn x, y and z during the trip. Therefore, if you’re a novice like me, don’t hold back. You will be taken very well care of. During our Tanzania trip we stayed in wonderful lodges/camps where the food was excellent, and the staff was caring and attentive. When we returned after a game drive they would be there with fresh juice and a damp cloth to wipe away all the dust. It was very easy to forget about time, worlds affairs etc. during our 10 day trip, especially also because we had some amazing sightings. The sightings were all incredible - the lioness and her two young cubs on the koipje, the bat-eared foxes which looks like Gremlin on a bad day, two male lions patrolling the Serengeti early morning, a pregnant lioness and her lady-in-waiting etc. I could go on and on! I’m sure if you join Sarah and Andy on one of their trips, you will have an amazing time. They attract very nice clients with a great sense of humour so the laughs are abundant

H. Moeller (Belgium). Tanzania, Feb 2018

Sarah and Andy’s attention to detail ensured optimal time was spent out in the field

I have just returned from Sarah & Andy’s British Columbia Wildlife holiday and what a fantastic trip it was. Whales galore, bearz and so much more. Sarah and Andy’s attention to detail ensured optimal time was spent out in the field. I learnt so much both in the field with my camera and in Lightroom as well. Nothing was to much trouble and they were so much fun. Unbelievable experiences that i will never forget. A trip to remember and cannot wait to travel again.

T. Lund, (UK) Canada Sept 2017

Their ability to track wildlife and work with guides to set our group up for the best shots provided an excellent experience

Andy and Sarah are both excellent guides and hosts. Their knowledge and passion for both photography and wildlife really show in everything they do. Their ability to track wildlife and work with guides to set our group up for the best shots provided an excellent experience throughout our trip. They are both always willing to miss a shot themselves to help their group, and they accommodate different skill levels as well as different goals for each member of the group. They provide a very fun, welcoming, and productive experience, and I will 100% travel with them again

D. Hogan (USA) Botswana. August 2017

Every level of photographer will learn something from them

Andy and Sarah are absolutely fabulous! Not in the sense of the famous TV series ?, but in every way they run their trips. Every level of photographer will learn something from them and they manage the organisation of the trip very well too, which is a rare and very good combination. They are great company too; we’ve had lots of laughs and all in all a fantastic time. Thanks guys; we’ll definitely meet up again in the future!

E. Doorn (Netherlands) Botswana, August 2017

your knowledge of the subjects and the area puts you head and shoulders above the rest

Dear Andy and Sarah. Thank you for an amazing time in Botswana. I have been an admirer of your photography for a while, however your professionalism, attention to detail and willingness to provide guidance when required led to a very enjoyable and productive trip which ran so smoothly and everyone enjoyed. I have done various trips with other tour companies, but your knowledge of the subjects and the area puts you head and shoulders above the rest! I would always recommend you to anybody that wants to improve their photography.

V. Burton (UK) Botswana, August 2017

You both always put your clients first providing helpful advice and suggestions

Travelling to Botswana was my second trip with you both, Andy and Sarah, the first being the Masai Mara in June which was excellent. The stay in Kenya at Mara Intrepids was very good and both the accommodation and staff excellent. Both Jay and Dickson were excellent guides and drivers, very knowledgeable and always knew where to find the animals. The Botswana trip was my first experience of camping. Unlimited Safaris were amazing. How they managed to achieve the standards that they did was miraculous. Eddie’s meals were something special and the rest of the crew were so helpful and polite. Cruz and Moses guiding knowledge was the very best. You both always put your clients first providing helpful advice and suggestions as and when it is required. Thank you both for two amazing experiences and for your helpful advice and total professionalism. I shall look forward to travelling with you both again.

BEST HOLIDAY EVER! Sarah and Andy expect to see us again in the future

Had the most fantastic holiday with Sarah and Andy in Botswana this year. Both Botswana and the Safari delivered in every way possible, from animals to countryside to sunsets to the experience of the Devil’s Pool in Victoria Falls, Zambia. Moses and Cruise from Ultimate safaris got us into the absolute best position to get our viewings and photos and Sarah and Andy showed us how to get the best shots, my life is now spent cataloging my shots and going WOW. Thanks for the Lightroom tutorial too.I could almost say BEST HOLIDAY EVER. Sarah and Andy expect to see us again in the future

C. Reid (UK) Botswana, August 2017

Sarah and Andy were so helpful, showing us new techniques to use

This trip was amazing – from start to finish. The wonderful position of Thamalakane Lodge, the 9 nights in mobile camps and a great finish on Chobe River. I actually wanted to go straight back to the mobile camps and the wonderful sightings we had there. Wild dogs aplenty, lions swimming, the beautiful leopard in a tree and the list goes on. I would honestly recommend this trip to anyone who has a slight sense of adventure. To have lions. leopards, wild dogs etc just wandering through our camp at night, with nothing between us but a canvas tent, was awesome. I loved all the drives, even the transfer ones over bumpy ground. Apart from great wildlife sightings, wonderful food, sitting round the campfire at night exchanging stories etc., I was actually blown away by the night sky. To have the opportunity to try photographing this was amazing and is something I shall definitely do in future. I appreciated very much the fact that both Sarah and Andy were so helpful, showing us new techniques to use without the need to go into Lightroom etc. I always think it’s wise to get the best image you can in camera and not have to manipulate it afterwards. I can honestly say you both gave us so much attention, more so than any other photography trip I have been on. Can’t wait until I can do it all over again

C. Butterworth (UK) Botswana, August 2017

I’ll definitely come back to Botswana with these guys or anywhere else in the world

How do you describe paradise? Not easy, right?! However, I’m sure I’ve found it in Botswana. 10 days of camping in the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai and Savute concession areas and witnessing the wildlife at Chobe River, we were constantly surrounded by wildlife and in huge numbers. Our amazing guides Andy & Sarah Skinner as well as Moses and Cruz from Unlimited Tours & Safaris always got us in the right place at the right time to witness the wildlife from front row seats. Were we not chasing wild dogs on the hunt or the ever elusive leopard, we were taken so well care of at the campsite. Three times we moved to a different location which meant 15 tents, food supplies and furniture etc. had to be taken down, moved and put up again. Rest assured by the time we got back to the new camp everything was up and running and dinner was ready. I don’t know how Eddie and his team did this, but they never failed and we were always welcomed back with a smile. A HUGE heartfelt thanks for taking such good care of us. Everybody went above and beyond! I’ll definitely come back to Botswana with these guys or anywhere else in the world. Also thank you to my fellow travellers who were such fun to be around. Thanks for all the laughs! Hope to see you again some day!

H. Moeller (Belgium), Botswana, August 2017

Looking forward to going out into the bush with them again.

As I head back I have to say I love the passion Sarah and Andy have for the conservation of the wildlife in Africa and this passion allows neophytes like me to take some spectacular pictures of the wildlife up close. Looking forward to going out into the bush with them again.

Caring, capable and competent

Caring, capable and competent – No efforts spared to make each guest feel supported and involved. A really nice personal touch to the environments they host.

M. Ratner (USA) Maasai Mara, June 2017

Many thanks Andy and Sarah and looking forward to Botswana!

I would just like to say a quick thank you to Andy and Sarah Skinner of Images of Wildlife for a fabulous recent Big Cat trip to the Masai Mara. It certainly lived up to its name with Cheetah, Lions and Leopards galore – in trees, on kills, hunting and with cubs a plenty. You want a Leopard in a tree – we got TWO! We even got a Lion in a tree! You want Leopard cubs – again, we got TWO! You want a Leopard hunting and on a kill – we got it! Of course, there was plenty of other wildlife and as I have only just downloaded my images I’ve just realised how much. Many thanks Andy and Sarah and looking forward to Botswana!

C. Butterworth (UK), Maasai Mara, June 2017

you exceeded my already very high expectations

During my trip with you to Botswana last year I learned so much about wildlife photography and just enjoying wildlife moments such as the elephant that come to lunch and many more. You set the standard very high indeed for my more recent trip to the Masai Mara with you both. Well I have to say that you exceeded my already very high expectations, not just seeing animals but the quality of sightings and all the animal behaviour moments. Very well done indeed.

D. Prior (UK) Maasai Mara, June 2017

They are both excellent tutors ready to give as much or as little advice as needed

Yet another successful and fantastic trip with Andy and Sarah. They are experts at seeing the possibilities at sightings and getting us into the perfect position to capitalise on the photographic opportunities. They are both excellent tutors ready to give as much or as little advice as needed. And last but certainly not least they are really great people you can have a lot of fun with. I’ve already booked my next trip with them!

N. Humphrey (UK), Maasai Mara, June 2017

Andy and Sarah always go the extra mile

What an experience! Andy and Sarah always go the extra mile. They provide photographic advice and instructions based upon your knowledge level. We started the safari with little to no experience. We quickly learned and we have thousands of fantastic photos. Sarah and Andy will continue to help you long after your trip is over too. They sincerely care. Their expertise doesn’t stop with teaching photography and positioning the vehicle for the best photo. They understand the animals and the environment. We learned about the history of several lions and leopards, in particular, because they have been following them for years. Not only are they true experts in their field, they are warm, caring, and fun people. Our safari wouldn’t have been half as fantastic without them. We already have two more trips with them on the horizon.

J. Fleer (USA), Maasai Mara, June 2017

With their knowledge and help I have become much more confident with using my camera

I have now had the pleasure of having done 3 trips with Andy and Sarah to Kenya and Botswana and would have no hesitation in recommending their tours. The preparation, planning and attention to detail means that everything runs smoothly and ensures one can relax and enjoy the safari. Nothing is too much trouble and individual requests and requirements are always accommodated. I have travelled with other guests with a range of photographic experience and all have been given a level of support and advice tailored to their needs and wishes. With their knowledge and help I have become much more confident with using my camera and my photography has improved as a result. They work hard with local guides to deliver fantastic sightings and great positioning for the best shots. And there are always lots of laughs and fun along the way. I am shortly to leave on my fourth trip with them and have another two booked so that says it all- wonderful hosts, amazing wildlife and fantastic photography!

K. Sowerbutts (UK), Maasai Mara, June 2017

I have already booked my next adventure with Andy and Sarah

I recently went on the Big Cat Safari in the Masai Mara with Andy and Sarah. I have previously done many safaris through Southern Africa but nothing as amazing as this. Mara Intrepids is a fantastic camp set in the best location for wildlife sightings, with great food and staff, including our amazing guides Dickson and Jay. Each morning and evening we set off on our game drives, with either Andy or Sarah in the car with us giving us guidance on the settings to use to capture the best photos and making sure the car was in the optimal position for taking such photos. We had so many fabulous wildlife sightings including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants (they even came close to camp) and the wildebeest migrations. I would definitely recommend booking this trip especially if you love wildlife photography. I have already booked my next adventure with Andy and Sarah

SJ McCabe (UK) Maasai Mara, June 2017

You couldn’t possibly ask for anyone better

We’d like to give a HUGE thank you to Sarah for organising the most amazing Safari that we have experienced. I found Andy and Sarah through their incredible photography and approached Sarah about leading a private tour through the Mara Conservancy. From beginning to end we were able to leave all the planning and organisation in her very capable hands and the whole experience flowed perfectly. Combining this with her very generous sharing of photography knowledge, guidance and advice gave us the best opportunity to capture the beauty of all that surrounded us. We thoroughly recommend anyone thinking of heading to Africa to consult with these guys either through a workshop that they have listed or for a private photo tour. You couldn’t possibly ask for anyone better. Thank you and looking forward to our next adventure

R. Doyle (Australia), Maasai mara, Seot 2017

Andy and Sarah were excellent photographic tutors and mentors, always willing to answer any questions

Coming back from Botswana on a photographic safari hosted by Andy and Sarah Skinner, with thousands of photographs, amazing memories and new friends. It was truly an adventure of a lifetime, we had the trifecta of sightings, wild dogs with puppies at a den, a leopard with her almost fully grown cub and a large pride of lions. As well as elephants, left, right and center, including at our lunch table, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes etc.. all the things that make an African safari. Andy and Sarah were excellent photographic tutors and mentors, always willing to answer any questions, they always made sure everyone was comfortable with their cameras, settings and techniques as well as double checking that everyone had the right view for their shots. Moses and Kane were incredible at finding the animals and getting us to the right spot for photographic opportunities. The crew who looked after us were fantastic, making the wild camping seem almost homey. I’ve made memories that will stay with me forever!

N. Humphrey (UK) Botswana, August 2016

Big thanks to Andy Skinner and Sarah Skinner for putting together an awesome and memorable safari

’m back from the bush in Botswana. A bit fatigued from the many long flights, and my feet may never come clean!. Big thanks to Andy Skinner and Sarah Skinner for putting together an awesome and memorable safari and getting it right from start to finish. Met some good people, had wonderful sightings and learned about photography as a bonus. Many laughs were shared. Grateful for the experience and also to our wonderful guides Kane Motswana and Moses for sharing their skills and knowledge. Grateful for new friends and looking forward to the next adventure. I would add that I would not hesitate to travel with you again.

C. Alderson (USA). Botswana, August 2016

We really learned a lot out there and our pictures bares witness to that!!

We have recovered after a world class Holiday in Africa. Botswana was by far the highlight, Sarah and Andy did an amazing job to make it a special time for us. Well arranged, good company, fine accomodation and not least – wildlife showing itself at it’s best. A warm thank you also to you both for being so generous in sharing your knowledge and experience in the field of photographing – we really learned a lot out there and our pictures bares witness to that!! The only downside is that we feel that this hobby will cost us a fortune

Sarah and Andy were patient, friendly and approachable. Making us feel important, even though we were novices with the camera

Sarah and Andy helped us to create our dream honeymoon, The big cat tour exceeded both of our expectations! We got up close and personal with so many animals and we saw a cat on every drive! Sarah and Andy’s knowledge of both photography and the wildlife on the Maasai Mara was truly inspirational. Sarah and Andy were patient, friendly and approachable. Making us feel important, even though we were novices with the camera. We came away with the knowledge of how to get the most out of our cameras and a passion for wildlife photography. Overall it was a wonderful, life changing experience. I cannot recommend Sarah and Andy enough…. Thank you!!

R. Thomas (UK). Maasai Mara, June 2016

Absolutely recommended for all level of photographers

After I met Sarah last winter in Abisko, it was soon very clear that we had apart from aurora photography another common interest: Africa! Seeing that Sarah is a natural in hosting groups, I checked my calendar and other plans and was happy to take the final spot on the Big Cat Photography safari. It was all perfectly arranged, all preparation information clear and complete and as soon as I met Andy and Sarah at the reception after pickup from Nairobi airport the game was on. Some minor hiccups from the side of the hotel in Nairobi were quickly solved by Sarah and Andy and the domestic flight brought us quickly to Mara Intrepids Camp. I was used to more basic safari, but the luxury in Mara Intrepids Camp, the great tents, the friendly staff and the good food is a real treat after a day out on the plains. The last night was absolutely great where Sarah and Andy had arranged a bush dinner. While the thunder was rumbling in the distance, a few raindrops were falling, we had such a great evening with good company, good food and great laughs. The photography safari itself was absolutely perfect! Being a bit nervous about my level of photography, I was quickly re-assured by Sarah that I should not worry at all. Andy was a great tutor and I truly feel I made a huge improvement on my photography skills because of his clear explanation. Both Andy and Sarah had great suggestions for the daily program, and together with the driver/guides were a star in spotting cats and other wildlife and positioning the vehicle that had sufficient space for all our big and smaller lenses. Being back home now, I already start thinking about on which other trip I can join them. Absolutely recommended for all level of photographers and of course also other Africa lovers who want to spend as much time as possible out on a drive

We had learnt so much through the constant guiding and patience of Andy and Sarah, boy do they know their stuff!.

As soon as I stumbled across a photography Big Cat Safari trip that was being organised to Kenya, I knew we had to get on board! Our very first trip to Africa, my dream come true and I wanted to be sure that we were with a travel agent and tour guides in the know, and we hit the jackpot with Andy and Sarah Skinner! We knew nothing about photography!, we purchased a camera a week before we arrived in Kenya and by the end of the trip we had learnt so much through the constant guiding and patience of Andy and Sarah, boy do they know their stuff!. Not to mention the mutual respect and rapport between them and the local guides (who have outstanding knowledge and passion and who liase beautifully with Andy and Sarah) the rangers and the camp site staff where we stayed at the Mara Intrepids, magnificent place!. I cried when I said goodbye to the staff! I cannot express enough love and emotion I feel for our amazing Big Cat Trip, everything was perfect, big fun and the wildlife, out of this world! From the first day to the last which I never wanted to end! We’re already saving to do another trip to Africa with Sarah and Andy, we wouldn’t go with anyone else, we recommend them so highly

Andy and Sarah could not do enough for you

If you are looking for leisurely late rise breakfasts in camp, a segment of Facebook updating, and then a drive round the trees with a ticklist and menu to complete for lunch back at camp, this tour is not for you. If you want to be first out the camp whilst still dark, in position for sun up, capturing from the start; the back-lit breath of the male lion; through to late morning when you finally find time to take breakfast out in the bush with a sausage and egg balanced on your knee , whilst keeping an eye on a hungry Cheetah 400 yards away in case she moves, then you will understand the magic that this tour delivers. Of course, there are times when a camera lesson and refresher is needed, and Andy & Sarah are on hand to provide this to ensure that even the novice photographers are wowing at their own images, whilst at the same time, reminding more established camera clickers of schoolboy errors and why not try this or that. and yes, on certain days, lunch and some down time back at camp before the afternoon drive is a welcome recharge. I’ve found some tours of the many I’ve done in the Mara get too self-focused on particular species and end up chasing long shots like ‘oh the radio has just screamed there’s a leopard out in the open, it’s an hour away, spend an hour boy-racing through the bush and bumping over the Talek riverbed, only to find said leopard has long retreated back in to the undergrowth’. This tour, no, 15-20 minutes away, maybe worth a punt, but an hour, let’s continue on, see what we find. We just happened to find a large column of Army Ants crossing the road, which got us frenzingly swapping macro lenses between guests and getting as close as we dare, oh and and there was a Serval taking a stroll; and on that day, we saw 4 out of the 5 big cats with only the rare and shy Caracal eluding us. The camp is superb, the local guides are superb, and Andy and Sarah could not do enough for you. Am I going back with them again, most definitely, in fact I might even do a double long tour, such is the magnetism. See a link here to a video made of my time in the Maasai Mara.

Awesome week with amazing sightings in a perfect setting with excellent hosts

As a regular visitor to Africa and a keen photographer I chose this trip because it promised the opportunity to improve my photography with expert guiding in a reserve that I love and it more than lived up to its promise. Entim camp is a fantastic camp in a lovely setting with excellent facilities and great food. It’s located right in the middle of the action with all of the reserve within easy driving distance. The vehicles were comfortable and we always had an entire row each so we could shoot from both sides. Our driver/guide Sammy was fantastic and as a keen photographer himself knew precisely where to position the car to give us the best shots. The hosting was nothing less than superb with the perfect balance of guiding and photography skills. Jackson is a legend in the Mara and takes guiding to a whole new level from finding tiny lion cubs in a den in long grass to anticipating the behaviour of the animals and making sure you’re always in exactly the right place to get the perfect shot. Andy is extremely knowledgable and experienced, always able to offer advice, help and suggestions in different shooting situations. Having his expert knowledge on hand and being able to pick his brains about settings, lighting, editing and special effects definitely helped to take my photography up a level. All in all an awesome week with amazing sightings in a perfect setting with excellent hosts. Can’t wait for my next trip with Andy and Sarah to Botswana in August and will certainly be booking again in 2017!

Both Sarah and Andy have all the qualities required to make the trip special with great guiding skills as well as the photography know-how

I have now done 2 trips with Andy and Sarah Skinner Photography, both to the Maasai Mara and with each of them individually. Both trips were amazing, staying at the wonderful Entim Camp – which is right on the Mara river with easy access to everything that makes the Mara an amazing safari venue and one of my favourite places on earth. The sightings we had were incredible; both were Big Cat specialist trips and lived up to their name with special sightings of these fascinating animals, but there is so much else to see in the Mara too, the wildlife abundant. Both Sarah and Andy have all the qualities required to make the trip special with great guiding skills as well as the photography know-how, even though their camera of choice is Nikon, it is transferable to Canon users like me (joking!). You don’t even have to be an expert photographer, with fancy equipment, to go and enjoy these trips, regardless of what sort of equipment you have you will learn something new that will help give you great memories of your special trip. The trips were well organised, with individual requirements catered for. I was fortunate to have travelled on both trips with Jackson Looseyia, so an added bonus to be able to spend time with such a Big Cat and Mara expert and a wonderful person too. Both of the Entim guides – Sammy and Petro deserve a special mention, their guiding and driving skills made the trip exciting, but safe and very memorable. So I fully recommend a trip with Sarah and Andy – indeed I’m off on my 3rd one with them both this summer!
